The NYAC was founded in 1868. It moved into its 21 story home at 150 Central Park South in the late 1920’s.
Club Leaders Forum, a bimonthly newsletter serving the club industry, conducts a survey of private clubs every three years to determine the best of the best. At their June 09 meeting of some 450 members it was announced that the NYAC was the “Best Athletic Club in the Country” and “The Best Club Amongst All Clubs in New York State” These accolades have been earned by the constant investment by the Club in its facilities – particularly the upgrading of its hotel rooms.
Its location – over looking Central Park - its proximity to public transportation –and walking distance to shopping and first class restaurants make it a very pleasant New York experience.
